LOWER FLORIDA KEYS FLATS FISHING REPORT
Monday, November 26 2012

Thanksgiving Keys Style!

It is that time of year again... Days are getting shorter, nights are getting cooler, the mosquitoes are gone and it is snowing in the northern part of the country..

Receiving inquiries daily from anglers wanting to know what fishing conditions will be like for their up coming winter vacation.

Permit release...

This is a transition time... If days and nights are warm and the water temperatures are above 70 degrees, the glamour species permit, tarpon and bonefish are a definite possibility..

April from Mt. with her first redfish!

If water temperatures are below 70 we target redfish, barracuda, sharks, cobia, lady fish, sea trout, jack crevalle, etc.. There is always something fun to fish for here in the lower Florida Keys.

Dave with a nice barracuda!

Now that the water has cooled down, lots of big barracudas are moving onto the shallow flats..

These fish are fun!! Lighting fast, violent strikes, spectacular jumps and long powerful runs.. What is not to like?? If you have a heart condition, you may want to stick with something tamer...

Went scouting with Jane. Found some redfish and some dolphins for her dog Coleman to bark at.
Another fun day!!

There has always been some redfish here in the lower keys in some spots... Lately we have been finding a lot of redfish in some spots and some redfish in a lot of spots.

PS: They love to eat flies!
