I Love Summer Fishing In The Florida Keys!
Very few boats on the water..
Most destination anglers are fishing the Rockies for trout..
I get to fish with my buddies and the fishing is GOOD!
The last week the weather and the fishing has been hot! Really hot.. Early morning starts have been key.. By late afternoon the flats are getting warm.. Permit and bonefish can be hard to find once the flats temperatures hit the 90's..
Capt. Shane Smith releasing a tarpon.
How ever tarpon seem to thrive in the warmer water.. Fishing with my buddy Shane last week and we found a bunch of tarpon crashing bait in 94 degree water..It was fun!
Tarpon fishing is great in the summer for resident juvenile tarpon..
Capt. Bo Sellers with a nice permit..
Fished yesterday with my buddy Capt. Bo Sellers.. We targeted permit.. Did not see many, but we each got one..
These fish can pull!
Fished with my buddy Capt. Tom Morgan this morning and we found some nice schools of bonefish pushing , tailing and waking in some very shallow water.. also a bunch of big jacks following rays..
